Biblical Truth or Tradition of Man?

What fruit did Eve eat from the tree in the Garden of Eden?
We hear the spiritual teachers, leaders and priests tell us the story of Eve picking the apple from the tree and eating it.  The apple is mentioned a few times in the Scriptures, but the fruit from the forbidden tree that Eve ate is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible.  This is a tradition of man.

Was Christ born on December 25th?
Christians all over the world celebrate Christmas as the birthday of Christ.  But is that from the Holy Bible?  No!  The Bible does not mention the birth date of Jesus.  There is no record of His birth date.  December 25th is NOT when Christ was born.  The time of His birth was in the autumn season not winter season due to other details given regarding the time of His birth.  This is another tradition of man.

We sing the Christmas song “We Three Kings”
The mention of “Three Kings” visiting Bethlehem in search of the baby Jesus cannot be found in the Scriptures.  What is written in the book of Matthew Chapter 2: 1-12 is the story of Jesus’s birth and the arrival of “magi’s” or “wise men” FROM THE EAST searching for the place where the Messiah was to be born. It is written that they brought gifts to the Messiah and worshiped Him.  The gifts mentioned were gold, frankincense, and myrrh.  We must not assume there must have been three kings because three gifts are mentioned.  This is a tradition of man.

Does Satan/Devil really exist? Does he have horns and a tail?
If Satan did not exist, we would not be living in a sinful world. Let’s look at what the Holy Scriptures say about Satan’s existence.  “You were the anointed cherub who covers, and I (God) placed you there.  You were on the holy mountain of God; you walked in the midst of the stones of fire.  You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until unrighteousness was found in you.”   You can get an in-depth description of the fall of the angel Lucifer (see Isaiah 14:12) now known as Satan by reading Chapter 28:6-19 in the book of the prophet Ezekiel.

No, Satan/Devil does not have horns or a tail.  This image makes him look comical and not to be taken seriously.   He is a fallen angel and probably striking to behold, but he is a cruel and dangerous adversary. The horns and tail is a tradition of man (or maybe Satan himself).

Let us know if you have identified other traditions that are not biblical and we will post them.
